I don't own IZ. I do own Wyvern. And I like that. :)
The young irken male ducked, avoiding several lazers from both the SIR units and the Meekrob. He crawled amongst the debris, searching for his fallen friend. He soon came across his partner, and helped the injured girl to her feet. The two of them escaped their destroyed base through a hidden tunnel, arriving at their underground emergency bunker.
The girl pulled away, struggling to stand on her own. Her dress was ripped to pieces, deep gashes all over her torso and legs. She gazed at her friend, whose face had been cut up in the melee. She growled. "I swear...it's not over..."
She fell to the floor.
Wyvern sat on his cot, watching Tenn leap at another simulation. He was quite a rarity by irken terms. Most irkens had red eyes, some with brown, and a select few with purple. The rarest eye color among irkens were blue, and Wyvern's were a beautiful baby blue. The last known irken with that eye color was Tallest Miyuki. Wyvern was also quite chivalrous, and very patient with his friends. He was also somewhat timid, and hated to start trouble. Of course, that drove the girls nuts, but he turned down all date requests, instead opting to help his childhood friend out on her mission during Operation Impending Doom 2. Of course, that may not have been the best decision. He sighed, brushing his fingers against his scars.
"So, Wyv, what do you think?"
"I think I need some make up or something. Maybe a green marker?"
"I meant, what do you think they want me dead for?"
Wyvern sighed, rolling his eyes. "Y'know, did you ever stop to think that, maybe, just maybe...they sent you the SIR units on accident?" For the last few months, he had patiently listened to Tenn rant about how angry she was at the Tallest for endangering her and her friend, as well as blowing their cover. Now everyone on Planet Meekrob was gunning for them. Tenn's favorite theory was that the Tallest hadn't forgiven her or her brother for the death of Miyuki. Lord knew Tak didn't take the demise of her cousin in stride. And it was no secret that Miyuki and Red were close friends growing up. Of course, Wyvern was quick to point out that it was Zim that everyone was mad it, considering he was the one who created the monster. Of course, Tenn was just as stubborn as her brother, and refused to listen to reason.
Before Tenn could throw a witty retort, their emergency transmitter's incoming call ring started up. Wyvern jumped up and swore, something he only did when the situation got real bad, real fast. Tenn yelped and tripped, falling over. "The Meekrob finally got transmissions up again?! Hack into the network, can they track it?!" Wyvern's fingers glided over the keyboard, effortless gaining access to the mainframe. He let out a sigh of relief. "Nope, there's no way they can trace this to us, and...oh goody. Guess who's calling." The bemused smirk on his face confirmed that the Tallest had finally gotten through.
Tenn yelped again. As much as she would've loved to curse the Tallest out personally, she really wasn't ready for this. "Tell 'em I died!" she shouted, diving behind her cot. Before Wyvern could respond, the auto-pickup initiated. He turned back to the screen, facing Red and a very freaked out-looking Purple. He nervously grinned at them. "Heeeeyyyy, my Tallest...eh heh..." Red sighed, relieved. "Hello, Wyvern. Glad you're still safe. Uh, sorry about those scars, there was a little 'free thinker' who switched your megadoomer with those SIR units." He then noticed that Wyvern was alone. "...where's Tenn?" Wyvern hesitated a split second. "Uh...she died."
Tenn, Wyvern, and Red all flinched when Purple let out a feminine scream, before he fainted. Red winced. "Ouch. I'm...we're really sorry to hear that, Wyv. She was definitely one of the best Invaders we ever had-" Purple started wailing again, before having a breakdown and rambling. "WE KILLED TENN!!! We never should've tried to send those SIR units to Zim, now look what we did, we killed her!!!" He dove into the couch, sobbing like a kid. Red facepalmed, and Tenn gasped. Zim? Did he say Zim?
"Zim? I thought he died months ago when this mission started." Red looked at the young Invader curiously. "No, we found out later that he...Purple, I thought I told you to tell him!" He sighed, before turning back to Wyvern. "We are truly sorry, Wyvern. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go break the bad news to her brother." The screen went black, and Wyvern turned back to his friend, who stood up shakily. She felt numb. Zim, alive? That's impossible. They must be making up an excuse for Wyv..." She turned to Wyvern.
"Well, Tenn? What's your opinion? Excuse, or truth?"
"I...I'm not sure. But we have to go to whatever planet they say he's on. I have to know."
"Why? Even if it's not a lie, why should we-"
"You heard Purple, those SIRs were meant for Zim. If he is alive...they don't want him to be."
